ABOUT US

A Passion for Diving & Community Since 1989

County Longford Scuba Divers was founded in June 1989 by 23 divers from across the county. The club was created to bring together people passionate about diving while also providing an essential Search & Recovery service.

Today, we continue to grow, welcoming beginners, returning and advanced divers. Our club is entirely member-run by volunteers, with a dedicated committee organising training, trips, events, maintaining equipment and much more.

County Longford Scuba Divers is affiliated with Diving Ireland, the national governing body for recreational underwater sports in Ireland.

Founded in 1963, Diving Ireland supports over 60 clubs across the country, promoting scuba diving, snorkelling, freediving, and even underwater hockey. Their courses are ISO-accredited and follow CMAS standards, ensuring high-quality, internationally recognized training.

Diving Ireland is also the only diver training organisation integrated with the Sport Ireland instructor training programme, offering a professional and structured pathway for divers to progress in the sport.
